Life enhancing lenses

A frame should enhance your appearance. A lens should enhance your sight. We want to help you select the right lens for your prescription- one that will help you see the best that you can and will last. We only use the most up-to-date, proven products and warranty all our lens packages for one-year against damage or defect. Additionally, should the doctor feel the need to change your prescription within the first month, we will redo the lenses at no charge to you.

All of our lens packages include a scratch resistance coating to help prolong the life of your lens. However, no coating is completely scratch proof so proper care is important to help your lenses last. To clean your lenses, please use the Anti-fog spray cleaner provided when you received your eye wear. Spray, gently rub with your finger and wipe with the cloth provided or a kitchen towel. Do no use any additional cleaning products or cleansers as they may contain abrasives that may scratch your lenses. If your cleaning spray is not available, water and your t-shirt may also be used safely.

All of our lens packages also have UV protection built in to the lens. However, if you are sensitive to light changes, or would like the benefit of sunwear for outside activities without having a second pair, a photochromatic lens, such as transitions may be something you would like to add to your eye wear purchase.

At Bright Eyes Vision Clinic, we carry a wide assortment of plano (no prescription) sunglasses that can be purchased without a prescription or with your prescription added. Sunglasses can have tinted lenses or polarized lenses. Tinted lenses can be done for fashion or for specific sport needs. Polarized lenses are ideal for driving and water sports as they eliminate glare from the windshield, road and water surfaces. By letting us know how you plan to use your sunglasses, we will be able to help you determine the best type of lens for your needs.

We also carry the Baby Banz line of sunglasses for children. Unlike regular sunwear for children, these sunglasses have a comfortable wraparound strap to keep the glasses on. With a sporty style that sits close on the face and gently wraps over the eyes, these sunglasses provide the optimal sun protection for your child’s eyes.
Other features include:

  • 100% UVA/UVB protection of lenses
  • Durable polycarbonate lenses
  • Capable of being replaced with prescription lenses
  • Neoprene elastic strap for flexability, breathability and comfort
  • Side adjust velcro allows for easy adjustment as your child grows
  • Frame is also made of shatter resistant polycarbonate

Contact lens fitting

If you are a current contact lens wearer or are looking to become one, you have found the right place. Advanced contact lens technology is making it possible for more and more people to enjoy wearing contact lenses. We are patient and careful to find the right pair of lenses for your everyday vision and comfort. This careful fitting means that you will receive the best lens, custom fit for you! Contact lenses are a medical device and, therefore, require a doctor’s current prescription to order. As it is not medically necessary, this exam is generally not covered by insurance and fitting fees can vary based on type of lens, age of patient and whether or not the patient has worn contact lenses before this appointment.

For current contact lens wearers, the doctor will evaluate your eyes with your lenses on them- checking both how you are seeing in those lenses, as well as how healthy your eyes are looking. If you have any concerns about your lenses or would like to see them be more comfortable, now is the time to let the doctor know! Based on your concerns or the results of your exam, the doctor may suggest a different type of lens for you to try. If so, you may be asked to wear this new lens for a week or two and return to the clinic for an evaluation of this new lens. At that time, your prescription will be adjusted or finalized and you will be able to order another supply of contact lenses.

For new contact lens wearers, during your pre-test, our corneal topographer will map the unique shape of your cornea (the front of your eye) so that a more precise contact lens fit can be acheived. After the doctor completed your examination, one of our paraoptometrics will spend approximately a half-hour with you demonstrating the proper care, insertion and removal of your recommended contact lenses. If needed, we will happily provide you with unlimited new wearer classes in order to transition into and gain confidence with your contact lens wear. After you have worn the trial pair of lenses for a week or two, you will be asked to return to the clinic for an evaluation of this lens. Depending on your experience during that week and the doctor’s assessment of your eye health and vision at the evaluation, another lens maybe recommended or your prescription will be finalized and you will be able to order a supply of contact lenses.

Contact Lenses

Do you have a special occasion coming up? Colored contacts are a fun way to enhance and accessorize your eyes for those special events.

Are allergies bothering you and causing your eyes to be red and irritated? Daily wear contacts may provide some relief from the irritation caused by allergies.

Whether you are looking for daily wear, extended wear or bifocal lenses, we will work with you to help you see your best, while enjoying the freedom that contact lens wear provides. Our experience and advanced instrumentation allow us to specialize in the “difficult to fit” eyes.

Corneal Refractive Therapy

Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT), also known as Orthokeratology, makes use of a personally designed therapeutic lens worn during sleeping hours to reshape the front surface of the eye without permanently altering its physiology – giving you ultimate control and flexibility of your vision correction option.  The rigid lenses gradually reshape the front surface of the eye, allowing you to focus clearly. You simply wear the reshaping lenses at night and take them out in the morning. The result is clear vision the whole day.

In fact, there is new scientific research that indicates that these lenses may not only temporarily eliminate nearsightedness, but may actually reduce its development.

Make life without glasses and daytime contacts a reality. Ask if Corneal Refractive Therapy is right for you today! For more information, visit www.paragoncrt.com

Pediatric Contact lens fittings

Due to advanced technologies and the increase in daily and extended wear contact lenses, it is becoming more and more possible to fit contact lenses on younger and younger children. Contact lenses may be prescribed for infants after removal of a congenital cataract. Toddlers and preschoolers with very high refractive errors may experience teasing and a negative self image due to their thicker lenses and, therefore, may benefit from contact lens wear. School age children who want to compete in sports, such as gymnastics or hockey, contacts may offer them the freedom to safely play in those sports and still be able to see their surroundings.

If you are interested in contact lenses for your child, please let the doctor know during their vision examination. The doctor will then be able to take all necessary measurements to determine if your child is a candidate, and if so, what lens would be a good fit. Depending on the age of the child, the parent’s experience with contact lenses and the availability of the prescribed lens, you may be asked to schedule an extended training class and fitting with the doctor or a paraoptometric assistant.

During that training class, both you and your child (if able) will be shown proper care, insertion and removal of the contact lenses. As a parent, it is your role to supervise your child in the care and follow-up of their contact lenses. Help your child remember to switch out their lenses and care for their lenses as instructed, monitor their personal and eye hygiene to ensure their eyes remain healthy and recognize the symptoms and contact your optometrist should you notice any: pain, redness, swelling, discharge or unusual sensitivity to light. Contact lenses are not a replacement for a good pair of eye wear. There will always be times when it is better for your child to wear spectacles instead of contacts so a good pair of glasses with a current prescription is important to have for all pediatric contact lens patients.
